I have never heard of anyone doing the "free parking jackpot" house rule outside of articles claiming Monopoly is faster if you don't do that.

Cats are oddly timeless. Dogs, because they are bred for appearance and breeds have grooming standards, will change over time - dogs in century-old pictures look different from dogs today just like people today look different due to fashion, grooming and health trends. But a cat from 1920 or 1880 or 1950 or 2026 will all look the same as always because cats are immune to time.
